ABOUT

La Porcherie is a self-catering holiday home, set within the beautiful Normandy countryside and offers comfortable, tranquil accommodation for four.

A sympathetically restored 18th century pig barn, La Porcherie is a perfect example of authentic Normandy architecture and is situated in a prime location to explore all that Northern France has to offer including the the D-Day beaches and museums. The Marais du Contentin and all its wildlife is on our doorstep.

La Grande Houssaye is 3km from the small commune of Villiers Fossard and is located in an idyllic and peaceful setting where storks, owls, herons and buzzards, are amongst our regular visitors.

LOCATION

Set in idyllic countryside in the heart of the Normandy peninsula, La Grande Houssaye offers a central location convenient for the D-Day beaches, Bayeax, Carentan, Caen and within easy reach of Mont St Michel.

Only 30 minutes from the D Day beaches, Bayeux, and Carentan. Caen with its excellent shopping, historical centre and theme park is 45 minutes away and we are within easy reach of Mont St Michel.

With its wide open spaces, expansive beaches, and quiet country roads this part of Normandy provides an excellent backdrop for a range of outdoor activities. Excellent cycle routes, green lanes are close by and the trans Normandy Velo Maritime route just a few kms away. The walking is wonderful with easy access to many of France’s GR routes, and the Marais national nature reserve with its fantastic bird watching is just up the road.

We are immersed in history here in Mediaeval Normandy, not only with the D-day experience and William the Conquer, but also with chateaus, abbeys, and historic towns; Honfleur a little further along the coast is well worth a visit.
